Today, we’re excited to feature anthology contributor T.L. Huchu, whose deeply moving science fiction short story, “Donhagore,” appears in the anthology Of Shadows, Stars, and Sabers, available now.

T.L. Huchu is a Zimbabwean-born author and long-time Edinburgh, Scotland resident. He is the author of the Edinburgh Nights Series (The Library of the Dead, Our Lady of Mysterious Ailments, The Mystery at Dunvegan Castle, and The Legacy of Arniston House), set in a dystopian futuristic fantasy version of Edinburgh (Jendia’s note: this is one of my favorite series in years).

Following critically acclaimed first novel The Hairdresser of Harare (2010), T.L.’s genre and mainstream fiction has been widely published and awarded. He has also written as Tendai Huchu. T.L. Huchu’s work has appeared in Lightspeed, Interzone, Analog Science Fiction & Fact, The Year’s Best Science Fiction and Fantasy 2021, Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, Mystery Weekly, The Year’s Best Crime and Mystery Stories 2016, and elsewhere. He is the winner of a Hurston/Wright Legacy Award (2023), Alex Award (2022), the Children’s Africana Book Award (2021), a Nommo Award for African SFF (2022, 2017), and has been shortlisted for the Caine Prize (2014) and the Grand prix de l’Imaginaire (2019).
