Today we are featuring author P.A. Cornell, whose novelette, Shoeshine Boy & Cigarette Girl, we are publishing in February 2026.

P.A. Cornell is a Nebula, Aurora, and World Fantasy-nominated, Chilean-Canadian author, and 2002 Odyssey workshop graduate. Her short fiction has been published, or is forthcoming, in over fifty magazines and anthologies, including, Lightspeed, Apex, and three “Best of” anthologies, most recently, The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy 2024. Additionally, her work has won Canada’s Short Works Prize and been longlisted for the BSFA Awards.

P.A. is the first Chilean writer to be nominated for the Nebula Award, for the short story “Once Upon a Time at the Oakmont,” published in Fantasy Magazine. See this story on their website.
