Publishers Jendia Gammon and Gareth L. Powell of new speculative imprint Stars and Sabers Publishing acquired world English rights from Ernie Chiara of Fuse Literary for The Legend Liminal, an upmarket, soft science fiction novella from critically acclaimed speculative fiction author Ren Hutchings (Under Fortunate Stars – Solaris Books).

We are thrilled to work with Ren again, having bought their fascinating short story “Grey,” for our upcoming 2025 debut cross-genre anthology, Of Shadows, Stars, and Sabers. While reading The Legend Liminal, we found it deeply moving, transcendent, and filled with the unsettling questioning of reality, such as in Donnie Darko, and we were reminded of Douglas Coupland’s Generation X as well as surreal road trip stories. The Legend Liminal publishes in late September 2025.
