Publishers Jendia Gammon and Gareth L. Powell of new speculative imprint Stars and Sabers Publishing acquired world English rights for Echoes and Embers: Speculative Stories, a science fiction and fantasy short story collection from Rhysling Award finalist Pedro Iniguez (Mexicans on the Moon; Fever Dreams of a Parasite). The publication is slated for July 2025.

We are thrilled to work with Pedro Iniguez again, having bought his thrilling science fiction short story “Cruel Machinations” for our upcoming 2025 debut cross-genre anthology, Of Shadows, Stars, and Sabers. When we read his short story collection, Echoes and Embers, we knew this was an exquisite set of tales from a wonderfully talented author.

Echoes and Embers honors Pedro’s Mexican-American heritage with imaginative, dreamlike tales across the spectrum from science fiction to fantasy.
